There's a site called
Landscapes 2.0, that's run, and frequented by, Russian and Eastern European photographers, both amateur & professional. It is all in English (albeit broken, at times) though, so you don't have to puzzle through navigation or instructions. You'll find a widget on
my blog that will link you to the current photos. Yeah, you say, what's da big deal? There's thousands of photo-sharing sites out there!
True, but the photos you'll see on Landscapes 2.0 aren't generally the scenic vistas you see all the time if you're the typical American or Canadian. Many of these are obscure - and impressive - locations in Eastern Europe. I'd love to see a Chinese landscape photo-sharing site as well.... anyone know of one?
You do have to sign up to rate, comment, or upload photos, but it's free, and they don't spam, or bother you in any way. This morning I started marking some photos as favorites (mostly because I hadn't done so before.) I noticed a theme to the ones I was favoriting, and then decided that the thumbnails themselves made quite a beautiful collage.
