I made a double batch of Albondigas (Mexican Meatball Soup) for Christmas Eve dinner, as we were expecting more family than usual. In the end, only the usual number showed up, as a variety of problems cropped up for several of our intended guests.
All worked out ok, as we'd arranged for a larger dining room table, which left more room for the rest of us.
At one point, someone asked for hot sauce to give the soup a little extra punch. (The green chili salsa wasn't up to the job this year, I guess. Next year, I'll go back to buying the more expensive brand.)
Hot sauce? I don't have hot sauce. My son excused himself, went out to his car, and came back in in seconds with a bottle of tabasco. Which he just *happened* to have in his car yesterday!
Plenty of leftovers... yum!
