Hi Gator,I've never been on one of these forums before but my husband bought me a new motorcycle and I'm trying to sell the old one. I thought this would be a great way to try to do that considering this forum is for the V Star motorcycle. Do you have any suggestions for how to get the word out that I am selling my motorcycle.
Thanks for your help.
Regards, Teresa
Hi Gator,

Hi gator,
I'm a new member, I have a 2006 Yamaha 650 V star classic. I was unable to ride for little over a year, and the carbs gummed up on it. I have bought a K&L rebuild kit, and have installed that. The tips for the pilot jet locations on the site helped a bunch, as I was able to replace those pieces as well, Thanks.
I am wondering how, and if I need to adjust the main air jets as well. I have taken the carbs completely apart and cleaned every piece with a cleaning solution. and also soaked the main body and cleaned it as well. Prior to all that the bike ran sorta. I found out mostly by trial and error that if I placed tape over the air intake where the filter sets it ran quite well. Then I read about dong that on this site too.
Should I try to adjust the main air jets when I have it all back together and mounted on the bike? Or are there any other suggestions that might help me to get my bike back on the road.

Hi Gator, I'm a new member....have an issue with my bike and dont know where to post this. 2004 Yam 650 V-star Classic. Have rebuilt the carb, changed the plugs, new battery, etc. Bike cranks but wont fire unless I jump the "crap" out of it and kill a battery. I finally get a fire, it backfires a little, then runs fine. Eventually, loses all power and back to the drawing board. Some have advised new pick up coil and maybe stator. Bike was running fine until a few months ago, now this headache. Any suggestions before I blow more money?
