I believe a lot of our problems stem from a lack of understanding of our own biases. I do not expect news to be without bias as do not believe human beings can be fully objective. We are blinded by our filters and defenses to a certain extent. We cannot not handle too much light, least we go blind. The mainstream news unfortunately claimed for years it could be fully objective, instead of admitting it could only have objective standards to reduce bias, but not eliminate it. This over-selling backfired and now most only trust information that feeds our own biases rather than challenges them.
