Cait is the second child of the Darlings. Even at birth her parents Missy and Michael Darling knew they had their hands full. Her free spirit shined in her piercing blue eyes even then. Tragedy struck the family when Missy fell ill and was lost to them. Her father did the best that he could but often his strict nature and her rebellous one clashed. The roughest clash was when Michael arranged her marriage to a man who sought only a piece f the Darling wealth and the honor of caging and taming the wild child. Unable to convince her father of his mistake she finally took the only way she knew out of the marriage... she took to the sea. It had often called to her and on more than one ocasion the young Darling had run to the embrace of the sea. At the age of 17 she disappeared from the family entirely, leaving Chris, Alexi, and Jason to their father's care, fleeing the cage of matromony. She stumbled onto the crew of the Intrigue where she worked her way up the ranks to an advisor of the captain. She earned her title Cutlass the same night the captain earned the name Scar. Seven years later, she returned to Tyran to check on Alexi and found herself talked into staying on land. The sea constantly called to her and try as she might to refuse the call for the sake of her sister and family and upholding the proper Darling name. Now, she has discovered a balance... she hopes between the land and the sea. She's Captain of the Kerosode, partner with Dante in the brewery, awaiting a possible position in the FTG and trying her hand at her father's work in designing ships.
Her rank is C6 and her sword and fists are usually at the ready should she face an adversary. Often, though it is her tongue that holds the sharpest edge.
