Rubecula..........An Avian species, with few enemies. Hostilities are common though with a rival avian species... The Merula. Also called the Name Stealers, for using the rubecula name to gain favour.

While out hunting food he is caught in a mystical storm... probably raised by his former master as punishement for disobedience. Caught in a whirlwind of lightning and swirling mist he is carried not just across the world, but across many worlds until exhausted he falls down to the sea below. Transorming himself to his diminutive human shape he swims as best he can .. until he finds a piece of driftwood...... When he awakes form his exhaustion filled sleep he is near land, a strange land. He is alone, with no way home. He needs companionship just to survive...... at least at first.

His extremely muscular body is powerful for it's size... but he is just too small..... He practices his thieving skills... not just to be a thief... but in order to survive long enough to find help... and friends.

Unknown to him, a fellow traveller from his homeland also arrives..... a merula.

Later to become friends Rubecula and Merula are the only ones of their kinds here and it brings thenm together, magic of this world makes it possible for Merula to assume the size and shape of a a smallish dragon, and Rube a huge mythical raptor that when pushed emits soft golden flames from his body.

Both want to destroy the dragons that eat their young at home.
