“Stung by the splendor of a sudden thought.”

~Robert Browning

An' though the rules of the road have been lodged
It's only people's games that you got to dodge

The business of stories is not enchantment. The business of stories is not escape. The business of stories is waking up.
“...these vignettes I sketch for you - what are they? watercolors ..yes and dreams blurred with tears ...”

There were long stretches where each of us was engaged in a private world of rapidly shifting vignettes. Always I was overwhelmed by the sheer number of human beings ebbing and flowing like the tides of the sea.
Howard Thurman
Oh my goodness, in my travels I continue to encounter the "same old, same old" dressed up in new packaging. You are always obvious to me as I, no doubt, am to you. Aren't you obvious to others, too??? I am sure you are.

You were better off with an empty profile.
As Time Goes By

It was so easy to believe that it was once the beginning of a beautiful friendship. But what is easy to believe is usually wrong.
So much transpired and so much time has gone by that now he was but a stranger to her. She had really no idea who he truly was...

In this world, it never rains but it pours...All her efforts to determine the identity of the mystery man were met with inconclusive evidence. Similar language patterns and habits were all she had to go on...Could he really be this person or that person?

This day and age we're living in
Gives cause for apprehension
With speed and new invention
And things like fourth dimension.

Not to mention people who use multiple chat names. However,
No matter what the progress
Or what may yet be proved
The simple facts of life are such
They cannot be removed....
The fundamental things apply
As time goes by.

And,so, I remain an observer. It truly is the same old story.

I truly do regret not uncovering the truth. As time goes by, I realize that maybe I shall never discover the truth and is it worth my efforts?? Will I regret this search for the truth? Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon and for the rest of my life?

I need more clues. I need more evidence.

“…Who are you really, and what were you before? What did you do and what did you think, huh?”

Anyway, this story concludes with a mystery, so to speak. It is a sad tale because maybe she has always been wrong. It remains sad even if she has always been right. Right or wrong..“Here’s looking at you, kid.”

“Life ... is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.”
~William Shakespeare, Macbeth

Why bother???
