Jeres was orphaned when he was 9 years old. His father, a vampire slayer, branded him with a pentacle on his left forearm to seperate him from the rest of his age group and made him grow up as a slayer of vampires. Jeres, being half-vampire himself, didn't want to. One day when he was growing up his uncle, Mantikore Alahmas came over from some distant realm and killed Jeres's entire family and tried to kill him. Unable to defeat his uncle with his superhuman strength he called upon his innate magic powers and consumed him with balefire: the fire of nothingness. He spent the next five years of his life trying to gain control of his powers and trying to survive until he was brought into the clan. Jeres remained with the clan for 300 years before a war broke out among the clans and his was decimated. Fleeing the country on the order of his mother he sought a new realm to rebuild a new clan.
