Personal Philosphy of Life

We can't afford the luxury of a negative thought.

Every moment of discontent is a moment of happiness that is lost forever.

If we can't get what we like, then we should learn to like what we can get.

If we are concerned about whether our glass is half empty or half full, then we probably just need a smaller glass.

Life doesn't treat us all the same. It's what we do with what life does give us that determines what kind of a person we are.

If things need to be changed and we have the power to change them, then we also have the obligation to do so. If we do not have the power to change them, then we must learn to accept them and live with them, and not let them diminish our happiness. But, most of all, we need to be able to distinguish those things that truly need to be changed and those that do not, and those things that can be changed and those that cannot.

Life is for the living. Death is for the dying. Live life to its fullest and you will never fear death.

We have been brainwashed into thinking that we are a democracy. That is a sham. We are a plutocracy. And Congress today is a political duopoly whose members serve their own personal interests, those of their their respective political parties, and those of the wealthy who bankroll their campaigns, while we, the people they are supposed to represent, get the leftovers.

Abraham Lincoln's concept of "government of the people, by the people, for the people" has already perished from the earth. In its place, we have a government of the people, by a political duopoly, and for the wealthy plutocrats. We now have a ruling aristocratic society of our own -- the very thing our founding fathers came to this continent to escape.

We can change this at the ballot box, if you keep it in mind when voting for candidates at the state and federal levels.
