Veronica Taylor was born to a wealthy family on a cotton plantation in Louisiana in the year 1823. She was the only daughter to Edward and Marlene. Marlene died a few years after Veronica was born from a lengthy illness. Marlene's death spiraled her father into a deep depression. Causing him to end his life when Veronica was 16.
Veronica's family plantation was handed over to her uncle, Thomas. Thomas was a drunk and lost the plantation in a drunken game of poker. Cast out of her childhood home, Veronica went looking for a new place to belong. After years of living on the streets, by the time she turned 18 she met Bartholomew. Bart felt pity upon her, so he chose to change her into the vampire she is today.
