James Madison in politics believed government needed checks and balances to prevent self-interest from superseding the common interest. Adam Smith in economics, warned against monopolies and their negative effects on common prosperity.

Time to apply this wisdom to our electoral system by putting a check and balance on our two-party duopoly and opening the system up to outside competition and a freer exchange of ideas. We need to keep writing and calling our State Legislatures and Governor's and let them know we want Final Five Voting. State by State reform has always started out slow, but then it reaches a tipping point and spreads like a wildfire.
