Numbness
picking at the scabs,
just to feel the pain,
walking outside naked,
hoping for the rain.
gazing to oblivion,
hoping for release,
wanting "the Nothing",
to finally fucking cease.
lashing out at no one,
because there's naught to blame,
wanting to feel something,
so you linger in the flame.
Pain is at least something,
so time and time again,
you shred you rip you tear you cut,
to feel the aching skin.
It may not be pretty,
but the soul it craves to feel,
"the Nothing" as a driver
is hell behind the wheel.
